Hope, healing, and atonement.

Richard recognizes spiritual beliefs differ. Some find strength through Christianity, others through different religious traditions, personal philosophies, or deeply held convictions.

He respects those differences, and welcomes all who visit this space.

The purpose of this page is not to impose a particular belief, but to share the spiritual foundation of Richard's journey, and offer a moment of peace, reflection, and encouragement.

Regardless of the challenges we face, compassion can transcend differences, hope can survive adversity, and even the smallest light can illuminate the darkest places.

The Song of David — Psalm 23

The Lord Is My Shepherd

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

— Psalm 23:1–6, King James Version

Today's Reflection

For Richard, this message carries particular meaning. His years of incarceration have become a period of reflection, spiritual development, and renewed purpose.

The words “He restoreth my soul” speak to the possibility of renewal; the belief that human beings can confront their past, seek forgiveness, and commit themselves to meaningful change.

Salvation does not erase yesterday. It asks what we will do differently today.

When the road ahead is uncertain, faith can provide the courage to keep walking.
