The Music Mogul: Sheska Records. Allgether Entertainment. A Night in Hip-Hop History.
In the vibrant, rhythm-filled world of 1990's New Orleans, Richard Peña's ambitions extended far beyond luxury automobiles, and the trappings of success.
Mr. Peña possessed an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for music.
Richard ventured into the entertainment industry, establishing Sheska Records, a hip-hop record label, and becoming involved in concert promotion through Allgether Entertainment.
On January 6, 1996, Mr. Peña brought legendary rapper Tupac Shakur to the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans.
Through his production company, Allgether Entertainment, Richard organized the appearance as part of a tribute concert honoring the late hip-hop pioneer Eazy-E.
The event represented a defining moment in Richard's entertainment career, bringing one of hip-hop's most influential artists to the Crescent City and demonstrating his ambition as a music entrepreneur.
The performance brought the unmistakable energy of West Coast hip-hop to the Crescent City. During a set reported to have lasted approximately 70 minutes, Tupac performed fan favorites including “So Many Tears” and “Dear Mama,” alongside other selections from his celebrated catalog.
For Richard, the occasion represented an extraordinary intersection of music, entrepreneurship, and cultural influence.
Yet the significance of this chapter extends beyond a single concert.
Richard's recollections of his entertainment ventures reveal another dimension of his life: a businessman drawn to creative expression, ambitious projects, and the possibilities of bringing people together through music.
